WOW… this is a little overdue, but man, what happened?!

The season started off good for the leafs with a three two win over the reigning champs.  That was good, then they lose one on a shoot out.  Can’t say there’s any real surprise there, just look at the numbers for last year… they absolutely suck in the shoot out, and I knew that so i wasn’t fussed.  But then the Canadiens come to town and it all fell apart.

SIX ONE IS NOT A RESULT THE LEAFS SHOULD BE SEEING! I don’t care about the curse with the Canadiens, ‘ just not right.  Is Hunter’s huge nose sniffing out the Leafs true weakness against their biggest rival?  Whatever it is, if the Leafs can’t figure something out before the end of the season, they just might have one less fan way over here in Japan.

Stood up by Disney?!

All sorts of things are going wrong in the world right now: the markets are crashing, the Leafs lost 6-1, the Dodgers and Manny took game three, and now something astonishing has happened.  I was rejected from Disneyland!

Here in Tokyo, Disneyland is a major destination for national holidays, and it was proven yesterday, when I drove out to the Parks in hopes of getting a discount admittance for coming later in the day, but as I approached the ticket gates, I was greeted by a line that looked as if it were a mile long, and I don’t mean that figuratively.  As I recovered from my shock I found myself standing in a line that would take HOURS to get through.

Disney’s reason was that the park’s admission quotas were full and exceeded, so until others left, no one else was to be allowed in.

I wasnt about to waste my money for the two rides I would have been able to go on, so i ended up going home disappointed.  So much for Disney being the place where your wishes come true.

The Jays and the Mariners… they both suck :P

Over the past few years, I have returned to Canada every year to spend time in my home away from home in Waterloo, Ontario. And every year, like the true fan that I am, I dedicate day to travel an hour north to Toronto, and see the Jays in action at the Rogers Center (aka the Sky Dome).

Our tickets were good ones, second row on the first base line, and the I had a promising feeling as the game began; largely by the fact that as I walked through the gates into the stadium, i was greeted with a free Alex Rios figurine.  By chance, i had the better seats than ever before, against the last place Mariners.  I had an excellent view of both 1st base and right field – the two positions I play on the school team – which happened to be the position where Alex Rios – my favorite player – was fielding, and i had just gotten his figurine for free.  Things were definitely looking up as the first pitch was thrown.

In the first inning, the Jays were looking sharp, as should have done, for they were on a four game winning streak.  Once they were up to bat, one of the player even hit the ball so close to me if I would have only gotten up for the ball, I would be a proud owner of a genuine MLB issue ball.  In the third inning, John McDonald – arguably the poorest hitting player on the team – hit a home run to make it 1-0 for the home team.

That’s when it all fell apart.

The Jays seemed to fall asleep on the field, and the Mariners took full advantage, by scoring 5 times before the final out was made, and took the second game of the series 5-1, and brought the Jays winning streak to a halt.  By the end I was watching the game in horror, flabbergasted that such a horrible outcome could come of such a promising game.

It is an understatement to say that i was disappointed, but it was a fun outing nonetheless, and watch out for me if you plan on going to a Toronto Seattle game next summer.

COME ON!!!!!

The Leafs have a losing record again!

I’m getting tired of this…

Hopefully Sundin’s departure will destroy the curse.

Hopefully.
